History

Nevins Consulting, Inc. was founded in 2003 with the mission of supporting leaders in pragmatic and innovative ways to accelerate the development and effectiveness of their people, teams, and organizations.


Coming from ten years in global senior leadership roles with Booz Allen Hamilton and Korn/Ferry, and rooted in his training in both literature and science, founder Mark Nevins built the firm on a foundational belief that effective leadership is both an art and a science, and that while leadership cannot necessarily be taught it absolutely can be learned.


Today Nevins Consulting advises and coaches leaders of organizations from large public companies to high-growth private firms to not-for-profits, across all industries, with special expertise in private equity and professional services. The firm is made up of a consortium of highly experienced consultants and executive coaches. Mark’s personal practice focuses on CEOs, their leadership teams, and their boards.

Our clients have always said that what they most value from us, beyond our deep expertise and commitment to great results, is that we take the time to understand their needs, their particular situation, and their ambitions.


At Nevins Consulting, we consistently find ourselves guided by a handful of beliefs, values, and passions: 

  • We collaborate with our clients to develop creative solutions that exactly meet their needs. We are constantly learning, and we appreciate that no two organizations are alike, so we don’t offer “off-the-shelf” products or solutions. 

  • We know that capabilities such as self-awareness, influencing, engaging and managing stakeholders, and fostering dialogue are critical for motivating people and driving results. “The soft stuff is the hard stuff.”

  • We believe that “doing” and learning experientially are critical to improving performance and changing behavior. You can’t learn solely by reading about it.

  • We feel that management fads can be counterproductive, and that “cookbook” approaches to leadership or organization development don’t really work.

  • We view complexity, conflict, and risk as natural parts of life, both within and outside business—therefore we place the highest value on honesty, transparency, and trust.

Our Partners

The core of our firm is a highly accomplished and experienced group of professionals motivated by excellence and making a real difference for our clients. In addition to working with Nevins Consulting, each of our Partners leads her/his own consulting practice.

Our consultants and executive coaches have deep experience working with senior executives, teams, and organizations. Additionally, each has held senior-level human resources and/or line management positions, and accordingly addresses business and leadership challenges from all perspectives.

While each Partner has particular areas of expertise and is recognized as a subject matter authority, we all share a commitment to pragmatic client-focused collaboration and results, not academic approaches or color-by-numbers methodologies.
